THE CRYSTAL BLUE BAND
-MEMBER BIO-

From 1966 to 1971 Tommy James and The Shondells released 19 consecutive chart singles. Nine of which were certified gold and three that went to number one in the country. And now, 50 years later, Mike Vale, Ron Rosman and Eddie Gray, all former, original members of that great group have reunited to form “The Crystal Blue Band”.

Vale, Rosman and Gray not only recorded every hit they produced from 1966 on but in many cases co-wrote the songs such as Crystal Blue Persuasion, Crimson And Clover, Ball Of Fire, Sugar On Sunday, She and many more. These great hits in addition to Mony Mony, Sweet Cherry Wine, I Think Were Alone Now, Hanky Panky and others made them one of the most prolific Rock acts of the 60’ and 70’s.

This group of legends have appeared on The Ed Sullivan show (twice), Bandstand (5 times), The Dating Game, Mike Douglas, Merv Griffith, Joey Bishop and a host of others and recently were recipients of the prestigious 2017 Pittsburgh Rock Legends Award and, according to many in the industry, are serious candidates to be elected to The Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame on some future ballot.

Their great hits have been covered by some of Rock’s biggest stars like Billy Idol (Mony Mony), Joan Jett/Prince (Crimson And Clover), Santana (Crystal Blue Persuasion), Tiffany (I Think Were Alone Now) etc.

Also, many songs from their extensive catalogue have been featured in major motion pictures such as Forest Gump, Expendables 2, Yes Man, Zodiac, The Nannie Diaries, Monster, Walk On The Moon, We Are Marshall and many more. According to multiple industry sources they were part of the biggest selling singles group in the world from 1968 through 1969, including The Beatles.
